What Squealer does exactly is that he tell lies to other animals convincing them that as long as they have Napoleon around their lives are going to be better. Squealer also had a cunning use of convincing language and a skillful way to manipulate the other animal’s mind in order to persuade them fully. For instance, this could be displayed on page 54, when Squealer says "'Surely you remember that, comrades?' exclaimed Squealer, frisking from side to side.". There are also other examples in the novel where Squealer implies peculiar movements and actions to make him sound more persuading to the animals. (Britannica, 2013)
George Orwell chose to represent the Russian newspaper Pravda as the pig named Squealer is because he wanted to emphasize how corruptive it is. The word “squealing” is for communicating for pigs. Where Squealer means that he communicates a lot, hence his representation of the Russian Revolution, Pravda, which is to communicate with other people. Squealer acts like a spokesman for Napoleon and the pigs throughout the novel, making other animals work hard for him through lying and deception. The reason why Squealer is an essential character of the novel because he represents how powerful propaganda can be and how corruptive and manipulative it can be for the country itself.
